If I had to choose one core value that defines Stockman Home Watch, it would be good stewardship. Many of us here in Jupiter have been blessed with much, and I believe most would agree that caring for and maintaining what we’ve been given truly matters.

The word Stockman simply refers to someone who looks after livestock—and that mindset is exactly how I approach every home I watch. Each property is treated like a sheep in my fold, stewarded with the care and attention of a shepherd, so my clients can enjoy genuine peace of mind while they’re away.

My name is James Gumbus, and I am the sole proprietor of Stockman Home Watch. I was born and raised right here in Jupiter, Florida, and I fully recognize what a privilege that is. My professional background is in engineering, a field I remain active in today. From a young age, engineering appealed to me because it aligned perfectly with my naturally detail-oriented nature.

That attention to detail has always served me well. In fact, my first business was a small car-detailing operation that helped put me through college—debt free. With Stockman, I’m continuing to flex that same detail-driven muscle that makes me a successful engineer and once made me very good at cleaning cars.

To ensure I was fully prepared to serve homeowners at the highest level, I completed professional training through the Home Watch Academy Business Owner Program. This training allows my clients to feel confident that their home is truly in good hands.
